Today is day 1 of 60

59 days to go.

I am feeling very hungry and it seems like my cravings have doubled. I started craving things I would have never craved before.

The feeling of not chewing on anything for a whole day feels very odd. I feel like I am missing something (missing food).

Apart from being hungry and feeling a bit dizzy, everything is well.

The juice however does taste a bit weird

Ingredients:

3 leaves of Kale

3 leaves of Monster Spinach

3 leaves of Spinach

1 large leaf of Swedish Char

1/2 tbsp of Ginger

4 stalks of celery

2 apples

1 lemon

A documentary on an Australian man’s amazing journey to better health and healthy living.

To achieve his goals, Joe Cross (the Australian man) goes on a juice fast, where he juices his own juice from fresh veges.

At the end of his fast, Joe looks fit and healthy, his lifestyle has changed for the better.

Ever since the release of his documentary, tons of people have been going on the Juice Fast (where the participant eat only freshly juiced juice for 30-60 days)

There are lots of healthy benefits to this Juice fast

1) You loose weight

2) You end up being healthier due to all the intake of greens

3) In the documentary, it can cure certain diseases (don’t expect miracles)

4) More energy

5) Longer life

I was challenged to go on the Juice Fast for 60 days.

Rain

The sun had gone down, but its funny. I don’t remember seeing the sun today. Its raining, the clouds have blocked the sun from my view.

As the rain drops fall onto the pavement outside my window, I can only imagine the Nature of things. How everything on planet Earth works like a clockwork. It also makes me think, despite all the technology we possess today, we are still in the hands of Mother Nature.

I loved the sound and the scent of rain. I still do today.

But just like everything in our lives, too much of everything has its negative effects. After a week of rain, I am becoming lazy, lazier than my usual self. Not to mention depressing thoughts. I guess I was never meant to live in Seattle.

Its been raining all week, reminds me of that episode of “Recess” when the kids go mad because their recess has been taken away and replaced with indoor activities.

It is said to stop raining tomorrow. I will miss it. But its winter, there are plenty of rain clouds that will visit the Sunny South California.

This turned out to be really random….

Past

Our Past is the scariest thing in our lives, even more than death.

If you’re one of those people who say “I’m not scared of anything.” Think again.

If you’re not scared of the Past, why are you keeping secrets from people?

Why are you afraid to make errors?

Why are you confined to the future?

We all have done stupid things in our past. We all have things we want to forget, things we wished never happened. We all have things from our past we want to keep hidden, even from your significant other.

We all want to grow old and retire without any regrets.

We are afraid of the Past because the Past can come back to haunt us.

Its not a bad thing to have a hidden past, its the reasons why we keep our past hidden that’s bad.

But either way you cut it, everyone has a same reason why we keep our past to ourselves: Fear.

Fear of judgement, Fear of hurting others, Fear of disappointment, and Fear of shame.

The interesting is that, the past is difficult to shield these days. Once something is posted on the internet, it can never be fully erased. Before the internet, everything was written on a notebook (diary and journals) but now everything is online (Tumblr, Facebook, etc.)

The Past is like a horror film villain. Throughout the film you try to kill the villain, but nothing works. At the end, you miraculously kill the villain, but in vain. Because they return in the sequel.

No matter what you do, your past will always be there, ready to attack.

Not even death can erase our Past.

The stereotype for Adult Film Stars is that they are hyper-sexual beings who could not get a decent job because they are not intelligent enough.

This stereotype is the reason why people are so surprised when they find out that a lot of Adult Film Stars have a college degree, some working on their PhD.
How else would they pay for all the loans from school?

“Haenyo – The Indomitable Diving Grandmas of Jeju Island”

They call themselves haenyo (pronounced hen-yuh), which literally means sea women and the whistling sound they made preceding their exit from the depths is called sumbisori. They are representative of a centuries old tradition, one which transformed their island in to a functioning matriarchy but a way of life which today is in danger of disappearing forever.

The island of Jeju, 53 miles south of mainland Korea, lies at the watery crossroads of the Yellow and East China Seas. Diving for conch, octopus, urchin, and abalone had always taken place there but due to large taxes was never very profitable – something men would take up if there was no alternative. That was until a canny group of women in the 18th century realized that women did not, unlike their men folk, have to pay taxes. A loophole was about to become a living.

The haenyo (sometimes spelled haenyeo) do not use oxygen tanks, which would only weigh them down and make their difficult task even harder. Their black wet suits and goggles are all they need to descend to the sea floor to collect their bounty. The skills they possess serve them well now – and did so too under the Japanese occupation of the Second World War. Many haenyo became heroines of the Korean resistance movement.

People scream out “YOLO!!” and engage in activities that causes harm and endanger their lives. It seems that, the population misinterpreted the meaning of an old saying “You Only Live Once”

Contrary to the popular belief, I believe that YOLO means: You Only Live Once, so live your life to the fullest so that when you are old, you can look back at your life and have no regrets.

However the popular belief seems to be: You Only Live Once so do every thing reckless before you are too old to do them.

What ass-backwards graphic designer thought this was an acceptable idea?!

I love how people in the comments are defending it like, “BUT IT’S NOT OFFENSIVE HERE IN UKRAINE!” Oh, well, I mean, in that case…. :|

I’m not surprised by this shit, but for the 101’ers out there, think about this:

1. Someone thought this was a good idea, that it would be an advertisment that would make money.

2. They had to pitch it to their team. The ad agency had to approve it. There were OTHER ideas, and this one won out.

3. They probably did some market testing, and figured out the best way to say, “Make chinky eyes” to fully get the message across

4. The client’s marketing agent/team had to say, “YES! THIS IS IT. We’re willing to pay money for this! People will LOVE IT.”

5. Some company had to print these out. Some printer person had to sit down and do color corrections, make sure all the tests come out right.

6. Several people had to go put these up, on buses, on bus stops, etc.

Either no one said, “Hey, maybe this is a bad idea.” Or, the people who did, were ignored and silenced.

Every time some shit like this happens, realize it took a lot of people cosigning on the racism, and think about what that says about a community or society as a whole.

Can’t even do nothin but cosign. But really, these people should know better than to do this shit by now.

I’m not surprised! Just from my own observations, people outside of the United States like to kid themselves and believe that racism is totally an AMURRIKAN phenomenon. But also consider that folx in the U.S. also tend to romanticize other countries for being sooo great— example from Time’s 2011 list of happiest countries in the world:
